Adopt Urbana Program
What is the Adopt Urbana Program?
The Adopt Urbana Program allows not-for-profit organizations an opportunity to help keep the streets in Urbana clean by collecting litter.
What is required?
Groups and organizations must be willing to arrange litter clean-ups in your designated area at least 3 times each year for 2 years.
Can we choose what area we adopt?
Your group or organization can select from a predetermined list of streets and waterways. If you would like to adopt an area that has not been pre-selected, you must submit that area for approval. The consideration of your submission will be based on any safety concerns for the volunteers in that area.
What will the City of Urbana provide?
- Temporary Street Safety Signs
- Safety Vests, Gloves
- Garbage Bags
- Bags for Collecting Recycling
- Pick-up of Bags After Event
- Street Signs With Your Groups' Name Designating the Area
