Current Calls and Opportunities for Artists
The Public Art League of Champaign-Urbana is seeking artists to participate in a Sculpture Exhibition. For the Call for Artists and other details, please visit their website. Applications are due June 8, 2012.
The City of Urbana Public Arts Commission and the Public Art League of Champaign-Urbana (PAL) are pleased to announce a Sculpture Competition to identify sculptures to be leased for a period of two years and sited in downtown Urbana. To celebrate Urbana’s designation as a Tree City USA, all entries should incorporate or reflect a tree theme. Selected artists will receive an honorarium of $1,500, sponsored by the Urbana Public Arts Commission. The competition is open to all professional visual artists, aged 18 and older, with public art experience that is commensurate with this competition. Artist of the Corridor
Artists living in Urbana are invited to display their work in the City Building for three months. Interested artists should submit an artist statement and three digital images of artwork to the Public Arts Coordinator via e-mail at cmmcclelland@urbanaillinois.us.
Commission Vacancies
There is currently one vacancy on the Urbana Public Arts Commission, the advisory board for the Urbana Public Arts Program. Interested Urbana residents are invited to submit an application to the Mayor's office at the City Building.
