Prevailing Wage Act

The Prevailing Wage Act (820 ILCS 130/1 et seq.) requires contractors or subcontractors to pay prevailing wages to all laborers, workers, and mechanics who perform work on a public works project. Closed - Request for Bid: Urbana Police Department Squad Car Equipment Installer

The scope of work will entail removing the overhead lights, prisoner seat and partition and tool box from our current fleet vehicles. Those items along with a center console, driver’s seat partition, rifle rack, in car video system, computer system and all related wiring will need to be installed in the new fleet. There will be a total of nine marked cars and three unmarked cars. The unmarked cars will all have internal lighting to be installed. One of the unmarked cars will not have partitions to be installed.

Included in the quote should be the cost and length of time estimated to outfit one car and any warranty provided by the installer. If there are any questions, please contact Lt. Jason Norton at the Urbana Police Department, 384-2320.

Closed - Request for Proposals: Compost Trommel Screen

The City of Urbana is seeking proposals, for the purchase of 2018 or latest production model trommel screen which has a minimum 6 ft. diameter by 26 ft. length screen drum and is fully assembled, axle-mounted and diesel powered, which will accept, process material, and then separate it. This trommel screen shall be self-contained and include an attached “screened fines conveyor” and an “overs conveyor” that fold up hydraulically for transportation. This equipment shall be mounted on a towable chassis and be delivered complete, fully operational, and ready for service when complete.

Specifications of Compost Trommel Screen may be examined, and copies obtained, at the Urbana Public Works Department, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802.

Sealed submissions must be received at the Urbana Public Works Department, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois, 61802, by no later than 1:30 p.m. Central Daylight Savings Time on May 25, 2018, at which time the proposals will be opened and the names and bids of the Proposers read publicly.

The Bid Documents may be examined and copies obtained at the office of the Director of Public Works, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, Illinois 61802.

All bidders are required to provide current financial and experience statements or other prequalification documents to show satisfactory evidence of the bidder’s competency to perform the proposed work at the time the Contract Documents and Specifications are requested or picked up. The bidder must submit evidence of current prequalification with the Illinois Department of Transportation.

Each bid shall be accompanied by a certified check, bank draft, bank cashier's check or bid bond acceptable to the Owner in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid, payable without condition to the Owner as a guaranty that the Bidder, if awarded the Contract, will promptly execute the Agreement in accordance with the Proposal and the other Contract Document, and will furnish good and sufficient bond for the faithful performance of the work.
