The Civil Service Commission performs various personnel functions for positions and employees covered by the Civil Service Ordinance, to include establishing job descriptions, establishing eligible rosters for hiring and promotion, and holding hearings regarding terminations. Members serve 3-year alternating terms.
The Urbana Civil Service Commission of the City of Urbana will hold regular meetings for the 2013 calendar year at 10:00 a.m. on the last Wednesday of each month in Executive Conference Room (2nd floor), Urbana City Building, 400 S. Vine St., Urbana, Illinois. The Commission reserves the right to reschedule or cancel meetings as needed in compliance with the Illinois Open Meetings Act.
