The City of Urbana is undertaking a zoning ordinance amendment and a rezoning to change all current Industrial district designation in to two new districts: a Light Industrial/Office (IN-1) district and a Heavy Industrial district (IN-2).
The Urbana Plan Commission will hold a public hearing regarding the proposed zoning ordinance text amendment and zoning map amendments on Thursday, May 10, 2012, at 7:30 PM in the Urbana City Council Chambers (400 S. Vine St).
On Friday, April 27, 2012 at 10 a.m., students from Thomas Paine Elementary will gather in Lohmann Park to hear Urbana’s official Arbor Day Proclamation, read by Mayor Laurel Prussing. The students will hear a presentation about the significance of Arbor Day and the value of Urbana’s trees.
Weather permitting, Church Street from just east of Lincoln Avenue to Busey Avenue will be closed to all traffic beginning April 23, 2012 and should be completed by May 11, 2012.
No parking will be allowed along the edge of the street on the days of the work.
