Inside the UFRS
We’ve been here since 1874, proudly serving our community every day, 365 days a year (that’s about 49,640 days we’ve been on duty—but with a job this good, who’s counting?). Our department is proud to be diverse in many ways, and those differences help us tackle the unique challenges we face every day.
Our 59-member team is organized into four divisions, each of which is responsible for specific goals and objectives. They include:
- Administration—functions include planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the services and programs provided by the department.
- Training and Support Services—provides support services for the emergency Services, Prevention and Education Services, and Administrative Divisions of the department.
- Emergency Services—provides fire suppression, rescue/emergency medical, hazardous materials, and disaster response services.
- Prevention and Education Services—duties include fire code enforcement, plan reviews, provides public education programs, and conducting fire/arson investigations.
