Beginning 7:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2012 through 5:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2012 weather permitting, Cunningham Avenue will have periodic lane closures in the southbound lane from Perkins Road to University Avenue to allow for the installation of fiber optic conduit and handholes.

The City is making sanitary sewer repairs on Grove Street between Oregon Street and Washington Street. Grove Street will be closed to all through traffic beginning at 7:00 A.M. on Tuesday February 7, 2012 to Friday February 10, 2012 at 5:00 P.M. weather permitting.

As part of the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District’s Annual Sanitary Interceptor Maintenance Project, the District’s Contractor, KIM Construction, will be lining the manholes that run north along Vine Street starting on Monday, February 6th at 7:30 A.M. and ending on Friday February 10th at 7:30 P.M.
The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) has announced that the City of Urbana, the City of Champaign, and C-U Safe Routes To School Project will receive Safe Routes to School (SRTS) grant funding. These projects will enable and encourage elementary and middle school students to walk & bike to school, in some cases even if they live far from school.
As part of the Urbana Champaign Sanitary District’s Annual Sanitary Interceptor Maintenance Project, the District’s Contractor Insituform will perform lining of an 18-inch sanitary interceptor that runs north along Urbana Ave. Insituform will line Urbana Ave from Elm Street to Main Street on Tuesday, January 24, 2012 from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
