The City of Urbana is pleased to announce that the Goodwin Avenue Pedestrian and Bicycle Safety Improvement Project was recently awarded with a Exemplary Human Environment Initiative Award by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA).
Beginning Wednesday, July 28, 2010, weather permitting, the Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project construction will begin. This project consists of removing the existing brick pavement, curb and gutters, driveway approaches and sidewalk ramps. Florida Avenue will be closed to through traffic from Race Street to Vine Street from Monday, July 19, 2010 through Friday, July 23, 2010 to perform street repairs. Residents living within the construction area may use Broadway Avenue to access their homes.
