New Meter Rate Increase

For the first time in 10 years, Urbana parking meters in the Campus and Hospital Districts increased from $0.75 per hour to $1.00 per hour on July 1, 2011.

Meters will continue to accept coins at the following new rates:

In January 2011, the Urbana Police Department subscribed to CrimeReports.com, a third party software vendor that displays department crime data on Google maps.

"Ride For Their Lives" Campaign Making Stop in Urbana

On Thursday, August 26, 2010, Ed Smart and Ahmad Rivazfar, both parents of child abduction and abuse victims, will travel to Central Illinois by bicycle as part of an awareness and fundraising campaign, Ride For Their Lives, for the Surviving Parents Coalition (SPC) child advocacy initiatives.
