Updated Mask Guidance in Champaign County

In light of the increase in cases, hospitalizations, and deaths related to COVID-19, the CDC updated their mask guidance. The Delta Variant is much more contagious, and the CDC notes:

·

Vaccinated people can get breakthrough infections of Delta variant and may be contagious

·

Vaccinated individuals represent a very small amount of total transmission.

·

Virtually all hospitalizations and deaths continue to be among the unvaccinated.

In areas with substantial and high transmission, including Champaign County, CDC recommends that everyone (including fully vaccinated individuals) wear a mask in public indoor settings to help prevent spread of Delta and protect others.

If you would like mask signage for your business, please reach out as we have some supply remaining, and may order more signs printed.

Additionally, face masks are available for free at our office and the Champaign County Economic Development office at 1817 S. Neil St., Champaign.

Please continue to encourage all staff to get vaccinated. Vaccinations are free and readily available in our community. Find vaccines here.
