The City of Urbana will provide FREE Christmas tree collection to all residents for 2 weeks this holiday season on your U-Cycle collection day.

Street Closure: Nevada Street from Coler Avenue to Busey Avenue

Weather permitting; Duce Construction will cause Nevada Street from Coler Avenue to Busey Avenue to be closed to through traffic from 7:00 a.m. Monday November 26, 2012 to 5:00 p.m. on Monday December 3, 2012 for water main replacement.

Local traffic will be allowed. There will be no detour.

Lane Closure: E Washington Street between Anderson Street and Grove Street

Weather permitting: D & S Sewer will cause the westbound lane of Washington Street between Anderson Street and Grove Street to be closed to through traffic from 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 21, 2012 to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 for a sewer repair at 608 East Washington Street.

U-Cycle Collection - Thanksgiving

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, U-Cycle collections will be delayed one day.

U-Cycle collections on Thursday will be collected on Friday, and Friday collections will be collected on Saturday.

As a reminder, please ensure recycling is at the curb by 7 AM for collection.

Urbana High School Recognition Parade for Soccer and Football Teams

On Friday, November 16, 2012 Urbana High School will hold a recognition parade for the Urbana High School boys’ soccer team and football team from 3:25 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Traffic along the parade route will only be obstructed for the time it takes for the parade to clear the area. (Approximately 15 minutes)

Airport Road Closure

Curry Construction will be installing a new distribution main at Cunningham Avenue and Airport Road.  In order to complete this work Airport Road will have to be closed to thru traffic at its intersection with Cunningham Avenue.

Weather permitting, Shaw Brothers Concrete will cause the outside, southbound lane of Lincoln Avenue, just south of Bradley Avenue to be closed to through traffic from 7:00 am on Friday November 9, 2012 to 5:00 pm on Friday November 16, 2012 for a water main repair.

Southbound traffic will be routed to the inside, southbound lane.
