CITY OF URBANA RECOGNIZES COVID-19 BUSINESS GRANT AND LOAN RECIPIENTS

The City of Urbana would like to acknowledge those Urbana businesses that have received COVID-19 relief funding since last summer 2020.

“City of Urbana businesses have received over $3 million in grant funds through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) fund, CURES – Economic Support Program, as well as Illinois Business Interruption Grants (BIG) Round 1 and 2. Paycheck Protection Program loans ranging between $150,000 and $2 million dollars have been awarded to 67 businesses which will allow them to retain over 3,880 jobs,” Sheila Dodd, Manager of the City of Urbana Grants Management Division said.

The City’s Economic Development and Grant Management Divisions have been working diligently to help businesses secure these crucial funds that will help defray costs of operating a business during the pandemic.

“These business assistance grants have provided critical financial support during the most challenging year in recent memory,” Mayor Diane Wolfe Marlin said.
