The purpose of the Downtown Market Study is to analyze the retail, residential, office, and hotel markets in downtown Urbana. This analysis will guide the City in targeting certain types of businesses and development.

On Monday January 10, 2011, Coler Avenue between Park Street and Church Street will close to begin the first phase of the new Carle Foundation Campus Modernization Project. The intersection of Park Street and Coler Avenue will be open to traffic along with access to the current emergency room parking lot located on the northwest corner of Park Street and Coler Avenue during this phase

Weather permitting Custom Service Crane will have Oregon Street closed between Mathews Street and Goodwin Avenue to traffic beginning at 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 28, 2010 through Wednesday, December 29, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. for the setup and use of a crane. There will be no detour but local traffic will be allowed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

There will be NO CHANGE in U-CYCLE collection this holiday season. The Christmas holiday and New Year's holiday both fall on a Saturday. Since both holidays fall on a weekend, the regular U-CYCLE collection schedule is in effect.

U-CYCLE collection will be delayed one day for the remainder of the week due to the Thanksgiving holiday on Thursday, November 25. Residents that normally have U-CYCLE collection on Thursday will be collected Friday, and residents with a Friday collection will be collected on Saturday.

A contractor for Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District will be rehabilitating an interceptor sewer on north Coler Avenue between Fairview Avenue and Sunset Drive.
Traffic may be reduced to one lane and a speed reduction will occur over the bypass pumping pipe ramps beginning at 7:00 A.M. and ending at 5:00 P.M.
Cottage Grove Avenue from Eastern Drive to Washington Street will be closed to through traffic, weather permitting, on Monday, November 22, 2010 beginning at 8:00 a.m. and ending at 12:00 p.m.
