The City of Urbana has contracted with Open Road Paving to perform milling and resurfacing work on various streets throughout the City. This work will begin, weather permitting, on Thursday October 14, 2010.

Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project, Phase 2
Beginning Monday October 11th, weather permitting Phase 2 of the Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project will start construction. This project consists of removing the existing asphalt pavement, curb and gutters, sidewalk ramps and then installing a new concrete pavement with new curb and gutter.

The following streets will be closed for the annual Beer and Chili Festival on Saturday October 9, 2010 from 6:00 AM to Midnight: Broadway Avenue from Elm Street to Main Street and Main Street from Walnut Street to Broadway Avenue.

Bids will be received at the office of the Director of Public Works, City of Urbana, Illinois, for Tuck Pointing & Concrete Masonry (CMU) Replacement at 704 S. Glover Avenue, Urbana until 1:30 P.M.

Weather permitting Duce Construction will have the Eastbound, south lane of University Avenue at 1101 E. University closed to traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 through Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 7:00 a.m. to construct a driveway entrance.
Weather permitting Cross Construction will have the Maple Street / High Street intersection closed to traffic from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2010 to install a water main connection. Weather permitting Custom Services Crane Inc. will have Mathews Avenue closed to through traffic beginning at 5:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 9, 2010 to set up a construction crane and lift equipment to the upper floors of 506 South Mathews Avenue.
The City is accepting public comments on the proposed Boneyard Creek Improvements until Friday November 5, 2010.
