Bicycle Friendly Community Ceremony

The City of Urbana was named a Bicycle Friendly Community (BFC) by the League of American Bicyclists in May of 2010. Urbana was the only city in the state of Illinois to receive BFC status this round and is the first downstate city to receive recognition. Receiving Bicycle Friendly Community recognition was a goal of the Urbana Bicycle Master Plan as well as a goal of the City Council and Mayor.
On Saturday July 17, 2010, a representative of the League of American Bicyclists recognized Urbana as a Bicycle Friendly Community.
