Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project and Street Closings
Beginning Wednesday, July 28, 2010, weather permitting, the Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project construction will begin. This project consists of removing the existing brick pavement, curb and gutters, driveway approaches and sidewalk ramps. Following the removal, new concrete pavement along with curb and gutters will be installed. The limits of the entire project are from Dublin Street to south of Ellis Drive.
The project will be constructed in one stage. Side streets affected that will not be allowed access onto Goodwin Avenue are Eads Street and Beech Street. A detour route will be created directing Goodwin Avenue traffic to Romine Street via Beslin Street and Beardsley Avenue.
This work is expected to take approximately 5 weeks to complete. Further updates will follow as work progresses. This road is expected to be open in early September with the parkway restoration to be completed in November 2010.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
