Olympian Drive Extension Project Website

As part of a multi-agency effort, the City of Urbana is leading the Olympian Drive Extension Design Phase that provides an east-west connection between the northern boundaries of Urbana and Champaign.  The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) is funding the design project, which is the next step in securing needed federal funding for construction.

The Champaign-Urbana Urbanized Area Transportation Study (CUUATS), the local metropolitan planning organization received the Olympian Drive Extension Design Phase funding in November 2009.  It unanimously approved and included Olympian Drive in the Transportation Improvement Program, assigning Urbana as the lead agency.
