Goodwin Avenue Closure Between University Avenue and Park Street

Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project, Phase 2

Beginning Monday October 11th, weather permitting Phase 2 of the Goodwin Avenue Reconstruction Project will start construction. This project consists of removing the existing asphalt pavement, curb and gutters, sidewalk ramps and then installing a new concrete pavement with new curb and gutter. The limits of the entire project are from University Avenue to Park Street. The project will be constructed in one stage. Driveways to the adjacent businesses will not be allowed access onto Goodwin Avenue. A detour route will be created directing Goodwin Avenue traffic to Wright Street via University Avenue and Park Street. This work is expected to take approximately 2 weeks to complete, weather permitting. Further updates will follow as work progresses. The road is expected to be open by late October with parkway restoration in November of 2010.
