Urbana Business Association's Holiday Market
Check out the Urbana Business Association's Holiday Market this Saturday and every Saturday through December 18, 2010!
Urbana's Market at the Square, presented by the City of Urbana, won't be back in its usual outdoor location until May 7, 2011, but fret not! The Urbana Business Association's Holiday Market offers many of the same vendors, including those selling fresh, local produce, baked goods, art and crafts, and much more. The Holiday Market is held inside Lincoln Square every Saturday through December 18 from 8 AM - 1 PM - the mood is festive, and the place is bustling.
Help make every Saturday Small Business Saturday! While last Saturday was the official Small Business Saturday, we'd like to remind shoppers to stop by to support the local small entrepreneurs in the Holiday Market, and visit the stores of the mom & pop shops in Lincoln Square (and all over Urbana!) for truly unique, one-of-a-kind gifts for everyone on your list... and maybe a little something for yourself, too.
Why support local business?
- For every $100 spent at local small businesses, $68 returns to the community (Civic Economics)
- Small businesses employ half of all private sector employees. (Small Business Administration)
- Small businesses reprsent 99.7% of all employer firms (Small Business Administration)
- For every year over the last decade, 60-80% of new jobs were generated by small businesses. (Small Business Administration)
Show your local businesses some love - this weekend and every weekend! See you at the Holiday Market every Saturday through 12/18.
