UC2B Construction Update

The Urbana Champaign Big Broadband Project (UC2B) construction work continues in Urbana.

Beginning at 7:00 a.m. on Monday, February 13, 2012 through Sunday, February 26, 2012, Cunningham Avenue will have periodic lane closures in the southbound lane from Interstate 74 to University Avenue to allow for the installation of fiber optic conduit and handholes.  Two-way traffic will be maintained on Cunningham Avenue at all times while this work is performed.

On Monday, February 20, 2012 at 7:00 a.m. through Friday, March 2, 2012 at 5:00 p.m., there will be periodic lane closures to install fiber optic conduit and handholes in the westbound lane of University Avenue from Lincoln Avenue to Wright Street.  Two-way traffic will be maintained on University Avenue at all times while this work is performed. 

In addition to the work on Cunningham Avenue and University Avenue, crews will be working on University Avenue between Lierman Avenue and Smith Road and on Main Street between Vine Street and Lynn Street. 

Areas where sidewalks, driveways and roadways were excavated will be temporarily patched for the winter months.  Permanent repairs will occur in the spring.
