Holiday String Light Recycling

Do you have burned out or broken holiday string lights, and don’t know what to do with them? Don’t throw them in the trash – Recycle them! The City of Urbana is encouraging residents to properly recycle holiday string lights this holiday season.

There are free drop-off programs available locally that will accept string lights and recycle them. The following retailers and recyclers will accept holiday string lights. Urbana’s U-Cycle program does not accept holiday lights for recycling.  Please see attached news release for a list of local recyclers.
