Illinois Mathematics League Ranks UHS Math Team as Top School in Champaign County
In a recent release of the Score Report Summary for the sixth High School Contest 2011-2012, the Illinois Mathematics League ranked the UHS Math team as the top school in Champaign County with a score of 128. In addition, two UHS students, Senior Umberto R. and Sophomore Zikang T., received perfect scores.
Math Contests are held by the Math League for Grades 4 through 8, Algebra 1 students, and High School Students. Over one million students from the United States and Canada participate in Math League Contests each year. The league consists of 6 mini contests per year with 6 questions from different areas of mathematics per contest. Students are allowed 30 minutes to take one test, challenging their math and reading skills. Calculators are allowed on these contests.
