Urbana to Host Illinois Arts Council Workshop for Individual Arts Support

The City of Urbana Public Arts Program is pleased to announce it will be hosting an In-Person Workshop presented by the Illinois Arts Council for the FY2013 Individual Artists Support Initiative grant program on Wednesday August 29, 2012 at 5:30 pm in the Council Chambers of the Urbana City Building at 400 South Vine Street.

This workshop will provide an overview of the Individual Artist Support grant program guidelines and application process, including updated information and a short Q & A session. Individual Artist Support funds help Illinois artists realize career goals, take advantage of professional opportunities, and/or produce projects or bodies of work for public viewing. Hosting this workshop contributes to the Urbana Public Arts Program’s mission to create a city where artists thrive and are valued. The deadline for submitting applications to the Illinois Arts Council is Friday, September 14, 2012.

The In-Person Workshop will immediately follow a reception from 4:30 to 5:30 PM in the City Building Lobby for to Art in the Margins, the August – October Artist of the Corridor exhibition, featuring photographs of recent projects by Urbana Land Arts.
