Q: What is municipal electric aggregation?

A: Municipal electric aggregation (sometimes called community choice aggregation) is a program that allows local governments the option of bundling together, or aggregating, residential and small commercial retail electricity accounts and seeking bids for a cheaper, and possibly cleaner, source of power.

UC2B Construction Update

The Urbana Champaign Big Broadband Project (UC2B) construction work continues in Urbana.

Holiday String Light Recycling

Do you have burned out or broken holiday string lights, and don’t know what to do with them? Don’t throw them in the trash – Recycle them! The City of Urbana is encouraging residents to properly recycle holiday string lights this holiday season.

UPDATE: Proposed Ward Map Adopted

The Proposed Ward Map was adopted on November 28, 2011.

Every ten years (after the federal census) the City is required to re-draw the seven council wards to make them roughly equal in population.
