Boneyard Creek Improvements Project Construction Update

Between rain events, the north abutment wall was poured and the deck beams were placed for the Race Street Bridge. The contractor also completed driving the sheet piles and soldier piles required for Perimeter Wall #2, the retaining wall just east of the building at 208 Griggs Street.

Elsewhere on the project site, streetscape work continued along Broadway Avenue between Water Street and University Avenue.  Streetscape work included pavement removals, storm sewer modifications, curb, gutter and sidewalk replacement, and brick placement along the back of the curbs.  The open areas between the brick edge and sidewalk will be landscaped in the Fall or Spring.

In June 2013, construction efforts will remain focused on completing the new Race Street Bridge, repairing deteriorating timbers on the railroad trestle bridge and constructing the retaining walls adjacent to the bridge.  Streetscape work will continue on Broadway Avenue and begin on Race Street in the vicinity of the Race Street Bridge.
