305 W. Michigan is a unique Spanish Revival house that was built in 1928. The house overall has an irregular form with an asymmetrical facade. The house has several wings of differing heights. The façade is covered in cream colored stucco. The house has a low-pitched cross gable roof with little to no overhanging eaves which is covered in red shingles. The prominent gable seen on the main façade roof has a round window in the center. The main entry is recessed underneath a simple rounded arch. 305 W. Michigan has rounded arched multi-paned windows with decorative iron window coverings and brick window sills. The house also has rectangular casement windows with iron mullions and frames. | |
Constructed in the 1920s, 305 W. Michigan began as a home for a U of I professor and has since been home to other University professors, like many other homes in the neighborhood. |
