Architectural Description |
| 601 W. Delaware is a French Revival style house with Tudor Revival influences. The house was built in 1933. The facade is constructed of brick which is painted white. The house is long and rectangular and has a steeply pitched gable roof. The main façade is asymmetrical and is dominated by a steeply-pitched cross-gable. The flared roof line has several dormer windows protruding from it. Some of the dormer windows break the roof line, and others are inset into the roof line, but all of the dormer windows have gable roofs. The triangular part of all the gables is accented with wavy wood decoration painted a pale teal. Many other features of the house are accented with pale teal wood detailing. Many of the windows are tall, thin casement windows. The west side of the house has a prominent red brick chimney protruding from the roof. The entry is articulated with a small gable-roofed porch. The porch roof is supported by a carved wooden spindle balustrade. The main entrance has a rounded arch glazed batten door. This large house has simple details that overall make it an elegant house. | |
