Manhole Access

As a community service the City of Urbana is committed to the maintenance and upkeep of our sanitary and storm sewer systems. To do this we clean, televise, chemically and mechanically treat for tree roots and repair any known defects on an ongoing basis.

Sewer Repairs

The City is responsible for repairing and maintiaing the public sanitary and storm sewer systems.

Property owners are responsible for maintaining the sewer lateral pipe from their house or business to the public sewer. In Urbana the maintenance of the sanitary and storm sewer service lateral up to the connection to the City’s sewer main is the responsibility of the property owner.
