Sidewalk Snow Removal Requirement in Effect

As of 2:00pm, Friday, January 13, 2012, the Urbana Public Works Director has declared the sidewalk snow and ice removal requirement in effect for the Downtown, University and South Philo Road snow removal districts.

Due to the winter storm, snow has accumulated to two inches or more on sidewalks.

Sidewalk Snow Removal Districts Established

Beginning January 3, 2012 property owners within identified snow removal districts will be required to clear the adjacent public sidewalks of snow and ice within 24 hours of a declaration made by the Public Works Director.
