Health Insurance
- You are eligible for health insurance on your first day of work.
- Our insurance provider is Health Alliance HMO, which covers Carle Clinic, Carle Hospital, Christie Clinic, Provena Hospital and associated medical providers.
- The full cost of health insurance premiums for employees are paid for by the City.
- Family and domestic partner coverage is also available.
Dental Insurance
Voluntary dental insurance is available through Trustmark.
Life Insurance
Upon hire, you are also eligible for life insurance through Hartford Life. The City provides $20,000 regular life coverage and $40,000 accidental death and dismemberment; you also have the option of purchasing additional life insurance for yourself and for your family.
Vacation
- Officers accrue 8 hours for each full month of employment to a maximum of 80 hours beginning on the first day of employment.
- 96 hours paid after the first year.
- 120 hours after 4 years.
- 160 hours after 7 years.
- 184 hours after 10 years.
- 200 hours after 13 years.
- 216 hours after 16 years.
