Foods
Malawian food tends to be very simple, since most of it is grown in the family’s garden patch. Staple foods include nsima and ndiwo. Nsima (nsee - ma) is a thick porridge that is formed into patties and usually eaten with your hands. It can be made from corn or other starchy flour—even ground pumpkin vine! Ndiwo (ndee - wo) is a tomato and onion sauce served over nsima.
