Where Do I Recycle It?
Champaign County Environmental Stewards
Reducing pollution through material management solutions
CCES is a non-profit community organization formed in 2019 to support efforts to provide area citizens with safe and convenient collection options for household materials that pose potential problems at the end of their useful life.
Their website is a very helpful way to find out about events that help you learn more on how to live a sustainable life here in Champaign County. They have a really handy newsletter, which you can sign-up for right here, and they encourage us all to be good stewards to the Earth.
Their handy page, "Where Do I Recycle It?" lists locations within Champaign County to recycle, donate for reuse, or properly dispose of different types of items. CCES will update the following recycle locations list on a regular basis. CCES welcomes additional information about local recycling opportunities.
They also are a valuable resource for Household Hazardous Waste, which consists of leftover household products that contain corrosive, toxic, ignitable, or reactive ingredients that require special care when you dispose of them. Common household products can be highly toxic, flammable, explosive, or corrosive, the same as hazardous waste that is highly regulated from commercial and industrial processes.
The Champaign County Environmental Stewards mission is to support efforts to provide Champaign County area citizens with safe and convenient collection options for potentially problematic household materials at the end of their useful life.
