America Recycles Day
Date: November 4, 2017 - 11:00am to 3:00pm
Rub-a-dub-dub, 3 R's in the Tub! How can you Reduce, Reuse and Recycle in the bathroom - the most overlooked room in the house when it comes to recycling? Join U-Cycle and the Urbana Park District to learn what you can do with toiletries and bottles at the America Recycles Day event at the Anita Purves Nature Center (1505 N Broadway Ave) on Saturday, November 4, 2017. Here are the details:
- For this event only, a drop-box will be available where you can recycle toothbrushes (including electric) and empty tubes of toothpaste (squeeze out all of the toothpaste first!)
- Bring your own empty tube of toothpaste and transform it into a coin pouch during the event!
- Donations of new/unopened toiletries such as toothpaste, soap and shampoo will be accepted during the event and donated to C-U at Home.
Activities include arts & crafts projects, recycling games, and entry into the fourth annual Creative Reuse Competition! Visit www.urbanaparks.org/programs/nature-programs/ for competition rules and a link to sign up. The entry deadline is Saturday, October 28, 2017.
