Goodwin Avenue Closure

Weather permitting, Goodwin Avenue from Illinois Street to Green Street will be closed to through traffic starting 7:00 a.m., Saturday March 17, 2018 and ending at 5:00 p.m., Monday March 26, 2018 for pavement repairs. Local access to properties south of Green Street on Goodwin Avenue will be available by using Goodwin Avenue via Oregon Street.

The north half of Green Street from Goodwin Avenue to Lincoln Avenue is also closed to westbound traffic on Green Street. Westbound Green Street traffic uses a marked detour route via Springfield Avenue. Eastbound Green Street traffic is using the south half of the street. If possible, through traffic is encouraged to use University Avenue or Florida Avenue instead of using Green Street during construction.

Additional construction and closures may take place near the University of Illinois Campus during the Spring Break period. Please use caution when traveling in this area.

The Multimodal Corridor Enhancement Project (MCORE) Project will improve access for all modes of transportation on the University of Illinois campus and provide direct connections to downtown Urbana and Champaign. The project is funded in part by a Federal Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) Grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation.
