City of Urbana Announces Executive Search Firm Selection
The City of Urbana is pleased to annonce that the executive search firm of POLIHIRE has been retained to conduct the recruitment for the Public Works Director position. POLIHIRE is a minority-owned and operated executive search firm based in Washington, D.C. that specializes in sourcing highly diverse, qualified, and engaged candidate pools for senior-level public sector positions.
The search will be led by Kenyatta Uzzell, Founder and President of the agency. Kenyatta previously served as the Executive Recruitment Manager for the Government of the District of Columbia. In this role, he re-engineered the recruitment strategy to identify and hire cabinet-level and other senior management officials to serve in the second administration of Mayor Anthony A. Williams. During his four-year tenure with the Williams Administration, Kenyatta was responsible for the successful recruitment and hiring of more than twenty executives and senior managers, to include, the city administrator, deputy mayor, inspector general, and numerous agency directors and deputy directors.
Before joining the District government, Kenyatta was a senior leader at several professional staffing firms, including Kforce Professional Staffing, Robert Half International, and Kelly Services. At Kforce, Kenyatta started and managed a new division of the company. He delivered sales and staffing presentations to senior executives at several Fortune 500 companies, non-profits, and various local governments. As a leader with Robert Half International, Kenyatta was responsible for the management and operations of five divisions and for recruiting numerous accounting and financial professionals. He also recruited several executives for non-profit organizations.
Kenyatta received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds a Masters of Business Administration from Howard University’s School of Business.
