Art at the Market
Join the City of Urbana Public Arts Program and Market at the Square for another Art at the Market!
From 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. participate in family-focused art making, together with bubbles, chalk art, and more! Local flow artist and magician, Michael Moxie, will lead a workshop on how to juggle like a pro! From 9:30am-11:30am, enjoy a performance from local band, The Young and the Fretless, performing old-time mountain music on the prairie--a mix of Appalachian Mountain and Midwestern tunes and songs. Featuring Lyle Konigsberg (fiddle, banjo), Tom Bassett (fretless banjo, ukulele), Hilary Valentine (guitar, dulcimer), and Rebecca Grosser (bass)!
All these events are free, open to all ages, and require no registration to participate. The workshop and performance will be held on Walnut Street near the City of Urbana tent at the northwest entrance to the Market at the Square, located in historic downtown Urbana on Illinois and Vine. The City offers art programming during Urbana’s Market at the Square season. Workshops and performances will take place every second Saturday of the month at Urbana's Market at the Square!
