Krannert Uncorked with Poet Laureate Will Reger
At Krannert Uncorked, Stage 5 is the crossroads to gather, make connections, and try a new wine.
The City of Urbana’s Arts and Culture Program and Krannert Center for the Performing Arts welcomes Urbana’s inaugural Poet Laureate Will Reger to celebrate the release of his new poetry book Petroglyphs. The event will include live music, a welcome by Urbana Mayor Diane Wolfe Marlin, an introduction by Urbana Arts and Culture Coordinator Rachel Storm, and remarks and poetry reading by Will Reger.
Reger has published more than 100 poems, both in print and online. He has read at numerous locations within the community such as the Urbana Free Library, Boneyard Arts Festival, Imbibe Urbana’s Love for All Poetry Crawl, Poets at the Post, and more. His first chapbook is Cruel with Eagles, a self-published volume of poems illustrated by his daughter Gretchen Valencic.
The role of the Poet Laureate is to build upon the City’s local poetry scene, foster appreciation of poetry in all its forms, and support Urbana residents and visitors in deepening their appreciation of the art of creative writing. Join us for an evening of poetry, music, and celebration!
Wine samples selected and served by Breakthru Beverage. Stage 5 now offers previously featured wines at half price during Krannert Uncorked.
