Sealed bids will be accepted at the Public Works Department, 706 South Glover Street, Urbana, Illinois, 61802, Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Bids will be accepted up to and no later than 1:30 p.m. CST, Thursday, May 21, 2020.

This RFQ was withdrawn, and will be re-posted in late June.

The City would like to purchase extended software and hardware maintenance entitlement on our existing Power 7 machines for at least one year (to September 30, 2021), and desires an agreement for two years (to September 30, 2022).

 

 

2020 Dr. Ellis Resurfacing Project

The Dr. Ellis Resurfacing project will begin on Monday, April 13, 2020.

The initial work will begin with the improvement of the concrete curb ramps along Romine Street to bring them into ADA compliance.  The ramps will be replaced at the intersections of Romine Street and Beardsley Avenue, Romine Street and Eureka Street, Romine Street and Tremont Street, and Romine Street and Ellis Dirve.

There will be further road resurfacing work in the neighborhood.  More information will be released as start days and locations become available.

Temporary Intersection Closure--Wright Street and Green Street

Starting April 1, 2020, the intersection of Wright Street and Green Street will be closed to east-west through traffic to allow for the reconstruction of the pavement within the intersection.  The alternate route for Green Street traffic traveling across Wright Street is to use Goodwin Avenue in Urbana and Fourth Street in Champaign to access either Springfield Avenue or University Avenue.

Some key pieces of information related to vehicle and pedestrian access at the intersection during this phase of the work are:

Lane Closure - Windsor Road between Myra Ridge Drive and Susan Stone Drive

Weather permitting, the southermost eastbound land of Windsor Road will be closed to traffic between Myra Ridge Drive and Sustan Stone Dirve from 7:00 a.m. on Monday March 30, 2020, to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, April 3, 2020.  Dodds Company will be making a service connection to a water main.  Through traffic on Windsor Road will be maintained at all times.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT the Urbana City Council will conduct a public hearing at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2020, or as soon thereafter as the matter can be heard, in the City Council Chambers, located at 400 S. Vine Street, Urbana, Illinois, on the question of whether to approve two proposed solar facility ground leases. The first lease authorizes Solar Star Urbana Landfill East, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, to lease from the City of Urbana portions of real estate parcels generally located at 901 Smith Road, Urbana, Illinois, and having permanent index numbers of 91-21-10-151-006 and 007. The second lease authorizes Solar Star Urbana Landfill Central, LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, to lease from the City of Urbana a portion of a real estate parcel generally located at 901 Smith Road, Urbana, Illinois, and having a permanent index number of 91-21-10-151-006. This afternoon, Governor J.B. Pritzker issued a "stay-at-home" order for the State of Illinois related to the COVID-19 pandemic. This order directs all Illinoisans to remain at home, tentatively, until 11:59 p.m. on April 7, 2020. This order includes many commonsense exemptions for people in the state. The necessities of everyday life are and will continue to stay available in Urbana. Businesses that provide these essential services will continue to operate in Urbana. The City of Urbana will continue to provide and support all workers and businesses in Urbana.
