Date: December 31, 2010 - 10:00pm to January 1, 2011 - 2:00am

Happy New Year!Join UPTV this Friday 12/31 from 10pm till 2 am for a New Year's Eve special filled with classic swing jazz, humor and a special Urbana countdown to midnight!

Ever have trouble finding a radio or TV station that actually counts down to midnight HERE, in Central Standard Time, where we actually live?  Ever miss the good old days of a New Year's Eve filled with classic jazz by the likes of Count Basie, Django Reinhardt and Errol Garner?  If so, don't miss UPTV's New Year's Eve special this Friday, 12/31, beginning at 10pm, as we bring you four hours of jazz and humor from The Humble Farmer!

The Humble Farmer is an upbeat, almost indescribable show--a radio program filmed in front of a video camera by 32-year public radio veteran Robert Skoglund.  The program features "old-fashioned music"--classic jazz records by the great artists of the 1920s through the 1950s--interwoven with wryly humorous comments on a wide range of topics by host Skoglund ("Humble"), who has been called "New England's Garrison Keillor."  The Humble Farmer regularly airs Saturday and Sunday mornings at 11am on UPTV, and beginning in January, will also be seen (heard!) Saturday nights at 11pm.  It is, as Humble puts it, a TV show best watched with the eyes closed!Happy New Year!

So this year skip the crowds, the iffy driving, the expensive night out, and relax at home with some of the greatest music ever made, a funny and personable host to keep you company, and a special Urbana countdown to midnight, all brought to you by Urbana Public Television!
