Airport Road Public Open House

The City of Urbana will hold a Public Open House on Thursday, April 3rd, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Urbana Civic Center, 108 E. Water Street to provide information concerning the upcoming Airport Road East Reconstruction Project. The Open House will be conducted on an informal basis; no formal presentation is planned. Exhibits, plans and aerial photography of the proposed improvements will be available for viewing during the entire time. Staff from the City of Urbana Engineering Division will be available to discuss the project and answer questions. All persons interested in this project are invited to attend this meeting.

The project consists of the reconstruction of Airport Road from just west of Captiva Street to just east of Somerset Drive within the city limits. The proposed work will entail reshaping the existing base to allow for placement of a new hot-mix asphalt surface. The reconstructed road will have a suburban look with curb and gutter and roadside ditches at select locations.
