Shopping Spree with UFD
Our Urbana Fire Department serves the community in so many ways, that it's not surprising that they reach out to families that could use a little help during the holidays! With the help of Wal-Mart and Meijer, both located in Urbana, Urbana kids will have gifts under the Christmas tree this year.
The whole adventure begins at Serv-Pro in Urbana. The folks at Serv-Pro provide a safe and fun holiday adventure for the kids. While the parents go and shop at Meijer and Wal-Mart, their children get to hang out at Serv-Pro's facility that is converted to Christmas craft centers where kids can make ornaments, Jingle-Bell necklaces, and snowman slime; a game room where they can have a snow ball crabwalk and a Christmas game show with wrapped Xmas presents as prizes; and an activity room with bags, Pin-the-Nose-on-Frosty-the-Snowman game and a holiday bounce house. The entire Serv-Pro staff dressed as elves, donning Christmas lights and all with happy smiles.
According, to UFD's Fire Marshall, Phil Edwards, the evening was just one of the many ways the department helps the community throughout the entire year.
"It's what we do," he said.
