I-74 Roadwork Between Urbana and Saint Joseph

The Illinois Department of Transportation announces roadwork beginning April 2 on Interstate 74 from High Cross Road in Urbana to two miles east of the Saint Joseph interchange, with lane closures beginning on or about April 16, weather permitting. One lane in each direction on I-74 will remain open at all times during this work.

Work is expected to last through mid-November.

Motorists can expect delays and should allow extra time for trips through this area. To avoid the work area, when feasible, use of alternate routes should be considered. Drivers are urged to pay close attention to changed conditions and signs in the work zones, obey the posted speed limits, restrain from using mobile devices and be on the alert for workers and equipment.
