Martin Luther King Jr. Day Assemblies Throughout Urbana School District

To celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday, assemblies are being held throughout Urbana School District Elementary Schools. Students and teachers will celebrate with songs, and other presentations to bring awareness to the great contributions to our society made by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

On Thursday, January 12 at 2pm, Wiley Elementary Music teacher, Cara Maurizi, and Elementary Art teacher, Rusty Clevenger, will present a multimedia assembly showing the importance of Martin Luther King's work through music, history and art. All Wiley students will be participating through singing and many will be contributing their artwork.

Thomas Paine Elementary will also hold an assembly on Thursday, January 12 at 2pm, and Prairie Elementary will hold their assembly on Tuesday, January 17 at 1:45pm.
