2015 Champaign-Urbana International Humanitarian Awards – Call for Nominations

The Cities of Champaign and Urbana will be celebrating the 13th annual Champaign-Urbana International Humanitarian Awards (CUIHA) Program. The purpose of the International Humanitarian Award is to:



  • Honor individuals whose work has contributed significantly to international understanding, cooperation, friendship and development;

  • Recognize the richness of Champaign County's international contributions, concerns and commitments in the following categories: agriculture, hospitality, humanitarian relief, human rights, research/education and trade and business; and

  • Educate the public about the connections which exist between our local community and the global community.

Nominations are now being accepted for this prestigious award. We invite you to consider nominating an individual or organization whose extraordinary international service has improved the lives and contributed to the well-being of people in the following areas: agriculture, hospitality, humanitarian relief, human rights, research/education or trade and business.

Nominations should be submitted in writing, not to exceed three (3) double-spaced typed pages and mailed toC-U International Humanitarian Awards, Champaign Community Relations Office, 102 North Neil Street, Champaign, IL  61820 or e-mailed to: CommunityRelations@ci.champaign.il.us. Deadline to submit nominations is Wednesday, May 20, 2015.


The Champaign-Urbana International Humanitarian Awards will be held on Thursday, September 3, 2015 at 5:45 p.m. at I Hotel and Conference Center, 1900 S. First Street, Champaign.
