Notice of Availability for Transitional Housing

April 27, 2015 - 12:00am to May 11, 2015 - 5:00pm

The City of Urbana has one (1) opening in its Transitional Housing Program for Homeless Families with Children. Applicants must meet Dept. of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) guidelines for homelessness, have dependent child(ren) under the age of 18 years old, provide a documented source of income and be willing to follow program guidelines and requirements. Applications will be accepted until May 11, 2015 at 5:00pm.

Commemorative Event at The Knowlton & Bennett Drug Store Building

April 11, 2015 - 3:00pm to 3:30pm

Let's celebrate the history and culture of Urbana! The Knowlton & Bennett Drug Store Building at Race and Main Streets is a historic building designed by famed Illinois architect Joseph W. Royer. Please join us there on Saturday, April 11, for a commemorative plaque dedication and ribbon-cutting event. See below for more details.

Urbana Celebrates the Boneyard!

Join us in for a day full of fun, family-friendly arts activities at Urbana's newest urban park!

(enter at Race St. and Griggs St. in Downtown Urbana)

Featuring arts workshops, face painting, food trucks, and performances by:

  • Bow-Dacious String Band (from Community Center for the Arts), 11:00am-12:30pm

  • African drumming and dancing with Djibril Camara and Ballet Allah Tantou, 1:30pm-3:00pm

This event is presented by the City of Urbana, and is a part of 40 North's 13th Annual Boneyard Arts Festival.
