The City of Urbana, as a member of the Urbana HOME Consortium, proposes to amend the City of Urbana HOME Program budget in the FY 2012-2013 Annual Action Plan (AAP). Additional HOME funds in the amount of $115,000 will be allocated to the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission, No Limits Program from unobligated HOME funds. For full details of the proposed Amendment to the Annual Action Plan, please see attachment below.
On Thursday, August 1, 2014 @ 10:00 a.m., the City of Urbana will hold a public hearing in the Urbana City Council Chambers at 400 S. Vine St. Urbana, IL, to accept comments on the proposed Amendment. If unable to attend the public hearing, written questions and comments should be directed in writing to Kelly H. #URBANALOVE Summer Movie Nights

Families and community members are invited to the free outdoor screening of Breaking Away (PG, 1979) on Friday July 11 at 8:00 pm.
The event, presented by @urbanalove, will be held at the Busey Bank parking lot in downtown Urbana. Please bring chairs or blankets for sitting. This will be the second installment of @urbanalove’s Summer Movie Nights series, which aims to bring the Urbana community together for an evening of film, food, drinks, and live music.
This month’s bicycle-themed event will begin with a casual bike ride at 5:30 pm. Riders old and new are welcome to gather at the Campus Bike Center (608 E. Pennsylvania Ave.) for the journey to Busey Bank in downtown Urbana.

The month of May marks Building Safety Month! Sponsored by the International Code Council, the purpose of Building Safety Month is to raise awareness of the importance of building safety and resilient construction including fire prevention, disaster mitigation, energy efficiency and to recognize that countless lives have been saved due to the implementation of safety codes by local and state agencies.

The City of Urbana, as a member of the Urbana HOME Consortium, proposes to amend the City of Urbana HOME Program budget in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2013-2014 Annual Action Plan (AAP). A reduction to the City of Urbana Housing Rehabilitation program in the amount of $112,000 is proposed to allow for a demolition/new construction project at 301 Thompson Street in Urbana, as well as to commit additional funds to the Community Elements Tenant Based Rental Assistance (TBRA) program. A public comment period on the proposed Amendment will begin on May 14, 2014 and run through June 13, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. A public hearing has been scheduled for May 29, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. before the regular meeting of the Community Development Commission to accept comments on the proposed Amendment.
