Anderson Street and High Street Intersection Closure

Weather permitting; the intersection of South Anderson Street and East High Street will be closed to thru traffic from 7:00 a.m. Monday, May 21, 2018 through 5:00 p.m. Friday May 25, 2018 for a water main replacement by Duce Construction for Illinois American Water Company.

Access will be maintained to all properties along South Anderson Street and East High Street but no thru traffic will be permitted through the intersection during the project.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through this and all construction areas. Thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this project.

Vine Street Lane Closure

Weather permitting, periodic lane closures for pavement and crack sealing can be expected on Vine Street between Main Street and University Avenue starting 8:00 a.m., Wednesday May 16, 2018 and ending at 5:00 p.m., Friday May 18, 2018.

Two-way traffic will be maintained on Vine Street at all times.

Motorists are encouraged to drive carefully through all construction zones.

Central Avenue & Locust Street Closures

On Saturday, May 19, 2018, Central Avenue between Main Street and Griggs Street, and Locust Street between Wood Street and Central Avenue will be closed from 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m. for the Canaan Academy’s Annual Spring Carnival.

Main Street Closure for Police Memorial May 18

On Friday, May 18, 2018, Main Street between Broadway Avenue and Vine Street will be closed from 10:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. for the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office Police Memorial, which will take place at the Champaign County Courthouse.

Closed - Request for Proposals: Boneyard Creek Tree and Woody Vegetation Removal

The City of Urbana will receive proposals for the removal of woody vegetation and trees from the Boneyard Creek channel from North Broadway Avenue to North Vine Street.

The proposal document may be obtained from the Urbana Public Works Department, 706 South Glover Avenue, Urbana, IL, 61802.

Proposals will be received until 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 23, 2018, at which time the proposals will be opened and the names and bids of the Proposers read publicly. The City reserves the right to reject any or all proposals, and to waive irregularities or technicalities.
