Consolidated Annual Performance Evaluation Report (CAPER)

The City of Urbana and Urbana HOME Consortium (comprised of the City of Urbana, City of Champaign, and Champaign County) are working to develop the 2022-2023 Consolidated Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER). The CAPER is a report outlining progress made toward affordable housing and community development goals. 

The 30-day public comment period begins Monday, August 21, 2023, and will close on Wednesday, September 20, 2023. A public hearing will be held on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, at 6 p.m., prior to the regular meeting of the Community Development Committee. Input can be made, in person at the meeting, or by sending an email to grants@urbanaillinois.us.

City Delivers 100 School Bags to USD #116

This school year, 100 Urbana District #116 students will receive school supplies thanks to Mayor Marlin and the City of Urbana. Mayor Marlin visited many of our schools, dropping off bags of supplies along the way. Thank you in the community for wrapping around our students and ensuring EVERY student starts the school year off on a positive note. Our Urbana School District can't wait to welcome the more than 4,000 students back next week!

State of Illinois Mobile DMV Held at City Hall

Join us this Friday for a Mobile DMV Event, taking place from 10 am until 2 pm in Council Chambers.

 

State Senator Paul Faraci and State Representative Carol Ammons are hosting this event to provide our community with easy access to Secretary of State services. All residents and employees are welcome to participate.

Available Services:

  • Driver's License Renewal/Correction
  • State ID New/Renewal/Correction
  • Vehicle Registration Stickers (for registrations expiring within the current year)
  • Voter Registration with Renewal DL/ID
  • Organ & Tissue Donor Registration with Renewal DL/ID

Important Notes:

  • Seniors aged 65 and above will not be charged for a State ID.
  • Seniors aged 75 and above need to visit a DMV for Driver's License renewal.

 

Conclusion of Residential Tree Limb & Brush Clean-Up

CONCLUSION OF RESIDENTIAL TREE LIMB AND BRUSH COLLECTION

There was wide spread tree devastation in Urbana due to a major storm on Thursday, June 29, 2023.  Public Works crews have worked through the entirety of the City addressing many high volume areas more than once. Supervisors have been canvassing the City systematically and assembling a list of any debris within the acceptable parameters that may have been missed.  The City of Urbana’s emergency tree limb and brush pick-up, as defined in the June 30, 2023 press release concluded at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 13, 2023. 

Residents with remaining debris may take materials to the Landscape Recycling Center at the regular disposal cost or utilize a private hauler.
