Submitted by BridgetB on June 30, 2022 - 6:30pmThe purpose of the hearings are to receive comments and suggestions on the amendment to the FY 20/21 Annual Action Plan to include the HOME ARP Allocation of $2,970,773. Persons with disabilities needing services for this hearing should contact Grants Management Division at (217) 384-2447 (TDD 384-2360), or the City’s Americans With Disabilities Act Coordinator at (217) 384-2466. The HOME ARP Allocation Plan is the Urbana HOME Consortium’s budget which will assist individuals or households who are homeless, at risk of homelessness, by providing permanent housing, supportive services, and non-congregate shelter, to reduce homelessness and increase housing stability within Champaign County. The plan identifies any preferences being established for eligible activities or projects Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Programs. The Plan also includes budgets for HOME Programs by the Cities of Champaign and Urbana, and Champaign County, which make up the Urbana HOME Consortium.

Juneteenth Commemorated by the City of Urbana

To commemorate the end of slavery in the United States, the City of Urbana will celebrate and acknowledge Juneteenth as an official holiday.
The official Juneteenth Flag will also be raised in a ceremony on Friday, June 17, 2022 at noon directly in front of the Urbana City Building, located at 400 South Vine Street, Urbana. Immediately following the flag raising, Mayor Diane Wolfe Marlin will read a proclamation officially dedicating June 19, 2022 as Juneteenth in the City of Urbana.
