The Landscape Recycling Center New Pricing

The Landscape Recycling Center has made 2020 price adjustments. Beginning Monday, July 13, 2020, new price adjustments for the following products will take effect: Screened

  • Garden Compost: $32.00 cubic yard
  • Screened Garden Compost 5-Gallon Bucket: $6.25 cubic yard
  • Split Firewood: $74.25 rick you load/load
  • Bundle of firewood: 15 total pieces per bundle you pick/load: $7.50
  • Asphalt Millings: $16.00 ton
  • Asphalt Millings 5-Gallon Bucket: $4.00
  • Red Granite Fines: TBD ton-coming soon

Outdoor Seating Accommodations Started

Urbana is entering into Restore Illinois Phase 4 on June 26, 2020!

Therefore, the needs of our downtown Urbana businesses are changing as we move through the stages of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Restore Illinois plan phases. As a City, we absolutely must be responsive to those needs and assess the use of public space to strike a balance among the different demands from various users of that public space.

Starting today, (6/26), the east half of the public parking Lot 1 at Water Street and Race Street is closed to traffic to allow for outdoor seating. However, the west half of lot 1 will still be available for parking. Remember when using Lot 1, all vehicles should enter the lot from Water Street, and exit through Goose Alley. Until further notice, Goose Alley will become a one-way alley with vehicles to move only east-bound. Please watch for pedestrians, bicyclists, and other vehicles when exiting onto Broadway Avenue.

Further, businesses with parking accessed from Goose Alley should direct their staff and patrons to enter Goose Alley from the Lot 1 entrance on Water Street and to exit Goose Alley onto Broadway Avenue.

Vine and Washington Resurfacing Project Public Meeting

A public meeting for the Vine and Washington Resurfacing Project will be held on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 4:00pm to provide information and accept input from residents and community stakeholders. Exhibits, plans and aerial photography of the project area will be presented and project representatives will be available to discuss the construction plans for the project and to answer any questions.

City staff ask that any questions, concerns, or other input be provided in advance of this meeting so that project representatives may efficiently address any common items. Please send this input via email to Projects@urbanaillinois.us by 5:00pm Wednesday, June 10, 2020.

Presentations will be made at 4:00pm and 5:00pm, each followed by a question and answer session.
